4-H Eco-Bot Challenge, National Science Experiment, Glenn Duncan Elementary: Reno, NV.
In this year's experiment, the 4-H Eco-Bot Challenge, youth from across the country enhanced their engineering skills by learning to think like a robotics engineer, assembling their own robots, also known as Eco-bots, and control surfaces in order to manage an environmental clean-up. At Glenn Duncan Elementary in Reno 5th graders tested the interaction between the Eco-Bot’s environmental engineering design features and various control surface configurations to determine the most effective environmental clean-up solution for a simulated toxic spill. UNR FIELD DAY, September 8, 2012 @ THE NEW GREENHOUSES ON VALLEY ROAD!
Susan Howe and Jamie Roice of the Nevada Radon Education Program handed out free test kits. 91 kits were given out!!!
Sarah Chvilicek and Samantha Shoupe of the Nevada 4-H Program experimented with solar radiation and light. Kids used color changing beads to make bracelets they could take home with them.
Ed Smith and Sonya Sistare of the Living With Fire Program had their "ember house" on hand to teach kids and their parents about the potential fire dangers to their homes. Kids are instructed to hit the house with "embers" in the spots where they are most likely to burn (the orange areas).
Heidi Kratsch and a group of Master Gardener's held a zucchini growing competition to see who could squash the record!

What We Do
Here are a few videos I shot and edited recently. Sue Donaldson, Kerry Seymour and Sarah Chvilicek talk about what their programs offer the public. These are a few of the many great examples of how UNCE brings University research to YOU.
Water Quality Specialist Susan Donaldson talks about natural resources programming done at Cooperative Extension's Washoe County office.
Nutrition Specialist Kerry Seymour talks about nutrition programming done at Cooperative Extension's Washoe County office.
4-H Youth Development Coordinator Sarah Chvilicek talks about 4-H Youth Development programming done at Cooperative Extension's Washoe County office.

PREZI: new presentation stuff! WOW your audience.
Say goodbye to boring powerpoints. Prezi Is a powerful online tool for creating high quality presentations...You can embed videos, pictures, sounds and just about any other type of media you can think of. Check out a rough layout I'm working on for UNCE based on one of the available templates to get you started.
